As Jonah Goldberg has well documented in his book, "Liberal Fascism," Democrats are well on their way to an intoxicated fascist frenzy.
Check out these Hitler youth... I mean, Obama Youth. While it will surely send a shiver up Chris Matthews' leg, it should send a creepy shiver down the spine of most sane people.
The Democratic Party today is alarmingly similar to pre-WWII Germany.
Indignation over Perceived Slights. In Germany, they perceived that they were unfairly slighted in losing WWI, and the fallout therefrom. This lead to an abandonment of morality, and endorsement of anything which achieved the end of growing German power. The Democrats feel slighted in losing the last 2 elections. They have abandoned all sense of morality, and feel that any means to the end of winning is justified.
Workers Rights. Hitler campaigned heavily on workers rights and it was a major theme in Mein Kampf. He promised a guaranteed job for everyone, and claimed employment as a "right." He only turned against unions after unions chafed at his dictatorial production edicts, which were decidedly harsh on common workers. He eventually crushed the unions, as they had outlived their usefulness to him. But he never abandoned his views on the socialist notion of a worker's "right" to a job.
Nationalized Health Care. Hitler and Democrats have in common a bold plan to nationalize medicine, to guarantee everyone cradle-to-grave care provided by the all-powerful nanny state.
Opposition to Business. The idea that fascism equals corporatism is ludicrous, and is the product of elite university professors desperate to falsely link fascism with the political right. The definition does not match the history of Hitler or Moussalini. Both encouraged and rewarded business in so far as they were useful to the goals of the fascist state. Any business which did not tow the line was mercilessly destroyed or divided among cooperating statist companies, or nationalized. Hardly a pro-business environment.
Antisemitism. Hitler would be well pleased by the American left's open hatred of Israel, and their desire to see Jews driven into the sea by a murderous Arab horde.
There are so many other examples, it would (and did) take a book to list them all.
And, lest anyone claim, "Hitler would never endorse a black man," let me assure you: Were Hitler alive today, he most definately WOULD endorse Obama. The Nazis had no problem lifting up other races if it suited their needs (except Jews, of course). The Japanese and Arabs benefited from his political endorsement, even though he regarded them as "inferior." Were Hitler alive today, he would endorse Obama in a heartbeat. Their similar ideologies and the higher goal of attaining a socialist state would trump any feelings of a racist nature.
